I’m not one for over-the-top Halloween decorating. As a matter of fact, most years I usually forgo Halloween decorating all together in pleasant anticipation for Christmas. However, this year I was determined to create a classy, yet spooky entry table that I could recreate year after year with ease.

The greenery, pumpkins, and some lower tier décor were new additions to my collection. Otherwise, many of the items found within this vignette were either taken from around my home, or from my small bin of Fall/Halloween decorations. My favorite piece has to be the glass skull, which formerly contained my fiancé’s Crystal Skull vodka. It adds unexpected dimension to the traditionally spooky motif, and balances well with the glass jar containing my second favorite item (caramel Hershey’s kisses).

You may utilize the basket below to store extra bags of candy to hand out during the big night so refueling remains uninterrupted. Light the candles and dim the overhead lights to really set the mood – just be mindful of roaming pets! Speaking of pets, if your fur babies are curious and conniving like my cat, consider keeping small “treats” like greenery and fake leaves up out of their destructive reach.

When considering a classic approach, don’t shy away from mixed metals. This is a big trend for the upcoming year, so be sure to embrace it! Here I’ve paired a thrifted brass candle stick with a weathered silver bottle. Keeping my colour palette neutral on the lower tier allows for a bright splash of seasonal colour up above. Intertwining black vines encourage the eye to move around the table from item to item while adding texture to the black table top.

All in all, I would say this is a simple and refined Halloween set up. With items found exclusively from Homesense and Michaels (mini pumpkins were a grocery store exception), this tablescape can be recreated with ease on any budget.
